Superior usability and portability of the iPad allow retailers to boast an interactive catalog at the tip of their fingers, and space planners to browse products and knowledge bases before making purchase decisions.
Realization
Turnstone was looking for a partner to help them define their vision and then realize an iPad-based app to leverage existing assets from their website as well as developing new features making the most of the haptic screen of the device. The goal was to create and perfect this new channel of distribution and communication with their customers, to release it at the same time as the 2011 SXSW conference.
Project
The project started with a study of the best practices and a benchmark of the existing mobile applications and Content Management Systems.
Then faberNovel produced wireframes describing the path followed by a user of the app across the various sections and its experience with the different features. We also designed the look and feel of the app in respect to the Turnstone brand guidelines.
After validation by Turnstone, faberNovel managed the development of the app and the delivery of successive iterations, improving each version based on Turnstone’s feedback and the reception of the app by its users.
Turnstone was looking for a long-time partner to help them enter the mobile apps space and continuously improve the design of their app. Owning a proprietary iPad app allows them to communicate the image of a modern brand, close to its customers.
faberNovel’s expertise allowed them to quickly test a prototype, validate the most crucial features and deploy a working app, then constantly being improved to perfect the design and add functionality.
