New broadcasting media, new uses

The spread of radio to new distribution channels (web, mobile, digital receivers, etc.) has created new needs for consumption: on demand listening, podcasts, video recording, and more.

Beyond these new ways to listen to the radio, listeners are looking for new ways to interact with the content. Preferred ways of interacting include: live tweeting, conversing with the content stakeholders, sharing content via social networks, etc.

Understanding the uses, needs and expectations of users has become a critical issue for large national and international radio stations. With this in mind Radio France has called on faberNovel.

faberNovel Realization

faberNovel focused on two topics:

>> Short-term evolutions and long-term functionality and design of the online radio player

We conducted interviews with auditors and delivered a benchmark of best practices related to the consumption of online media helping Radio France identify the most important innovations for its online web player.

>> Conception and design of two interactive dashboards allowing Radio France staff to monitor real-time usage of online listeners. The dashboards are:

- An analytics tool for real-time monitoring of the listening web and mobile distribution channels
- An interactice visualization tool of the activity generated on Twitter in real-time by Radio France programs
