Experimenting strategies is the core business of faberNovel XP. Imagining new concepts for products and services, working out experimental protocols, developing, testing and validating prototypes is what they do.

faberNovel Prototype assists contracting authorities (in expressing their needs) or acts as project manager (up to the implementation phase).

Paul Bois

Lead Project Designer

Paul Bois

Paul Bois is a Supélec graduate. He joined faberNovel in april 2005 to handle all prototype missions (specifications, design, realization, tests and deployment into the field). Main accomplishments:

  • AlloCyclo: “self-service bike renting system” for Transdev
  • EDIM: pilot project of a new visual information screen for the RATP (French transportation system)
  • Urban Mobs: jointly conducted experiment with Orange Labs on the recovery, aggregation and representation of data collected from mobile activity. It aims at visualizing urban population’s activity through its use of mobile phone

He heads both research themes “Transports 2.0” and “Visualization of information and flows of information”

He is also co-founder and company treasurer of the “Clean Tuesday” association which purpose is to organize a monthly meeting of all “Clean Technology” players.

Marie-Caroline Lanfranchi

3 years of experience in the launching and follow up of innovative technological projects.

Marie-Caroline Lanfranchi

Marie Caroline has a Master of Science degree from both the Imperial College of London and Supélec. She joined faberNovel in 2005 to work on the first experiment of the BlueEyes project which she carried through to a successful conclusion.

Since joining, she has successively led and managed innovative projects for clients, internal and external research works, as well as internal project developments. In parallel, she’s in charge of developing faberNovel’s methods and putting them into practice.

Among such projects were the following:

  • BlueEyes –orientation help system designed for the visually handicapped in subway stations (RATP)
  • Running the SFR Flashcode experiment in the Quartier Numérique or Digital Zone (SFR)
  • A Positioning study for 2D code experiments (L’Oréal)
  • Monitoring and assisting a contracting authority on the “Ma RATP dans la poche” project (RATP)
  • A Mobile expertise and research project (RATP)
  • A Project for the creation of a subsidiary entity dedicated to innovative services to individuals
  • Internal initiatives: web site improvement platform through beta versions (Bet On Betas), alternate reality game (Tag the City), and participation in an ANR (French National Agency for Research) project on “economic organization models and virtual worlds”

Marie Caroline’s work allowed faberNovel to patent several mobile technologies. Her specialty research themes are urban organization and innovative services to individuals.

Arnaud Joubay

Arnaud Joubay

Arnaud received his engineering degree specialized in information systems from Supélec. After two years as a financial auditor at Mazars working for several industrial, banking and insurance groups, Arnaud Joubay joined faberNovel in 2007 to occupy two functions there. He became faberNovel and faberNovel federation of start-ups’ first Chief Financial Officer and was also put in charge of running the 2D Codes and Flashcodes projects handled for the RATP (French transportation network) as well as implementing the CAUTIC method (technology, innovation and change aided design).

Alexandre Assouad

Alexandre Assouad

Alexandre Assouad is a Supeléc graduate and was hired upon the completion of a six-month internship at faberNovel.

His main areas of expertise are the web, mobility (AlloCyclo, VLS blog) and data visualization (Urban Mobs project).

Guillaume Charny-Brunet

Guillaume Charny-Brunet

Guillaume has a European Law degree and a Master’s in European Business (ESCP-EAP). He joined faberNovel in November 2006 when he was hired after completing his end of school internship with the company. He handles patent rights and follows through the carrying out of several innovative projects among which are:

  • QN TV: First local web TV dedicated to the life and people of Paris’ 2nd arrondissement. This experiment involves several partnerships and aims at testing the visual impact of images as a binding tool for social networking.
  • Virtual Exhibition, Jacques Prévert, Paris la belle: Paris local authorities entrusted faberNovel, Chugulu and Persistant with creating a virtual version of an exhibition currently displayed at Town hall’s Saint Jean room from October 23rd 2008 to February 28th 2009.

Clément Léocadie

Clément Léocadie

Clément is a student from ENS Cachan (Automated Electro-technical Electronics section - Applied physics, M1 Information System and Technology, Paris XI University – ENS Cachan). Since September 2008 and during his caesura, he is part of faberNovel’s team. Currently student in the M1 « Project Innovation Conception » of Polytechnique, he is performing a research internship as Junior Project Designer at faberNovel. He is in charge of Green Tech operations: participating in the establishment of the Clean Tuesday association, creating an internal company social responsibility chart, canvassing for business, monitoring the market. He has taken part in several projects such as Ma RATP dans la poche (aMOA) and BlueEyes (R&D).

Rémi Rousseau

Rémi Rousseau

Rémi Rousseau is a 2008 Polytechnique graduate who also received a PIC master’s degree in Innovation and Project Management. He joined faberNovel in October 2008 after completing a 15 month-internship with Lagardère. There, he spent six months working at VirginMega.fr on original ways to promote and value online music, and another nine months at the group’s Innovation pole. His missions there were to explore the use of digital books as well as the transmission of cultural content on the Internet and social media channels.
